Berlin's premiere Drum and Bass label Hard:edged returns with an original and a remix of label stalwarts Dub Tao, in the form of, 'East Of Underground'. Backed with a remix from Brazilian bad boy, Bungle.
First up is Mr. Bungle, who rides the sample over shattering breaks, while breathing life into the tune via a tight rhythmically undulating bass line. This is a track that possesses as much musicality as it does excitement.
Dub Tao start the original off with a classic two step break, letting the samples and atmospheres create a tension before a thunderous bass drop. Dub Tao, certainly don't need any help getting their sound tight, but who would turn down a little mixing magic from Formation's soul-man Influx Uk.
This EP most certainly posses a plethora of versatility which will aid it in finding a place in the DJ sets of many and blaring out of the speakers on a dance floor near you.
